Zack O'Malley Greenburg is a member of the Bellevue Society (and husband of membership chair/Bellevue alum Danielle La Rocco, MD) who in 2017 gave the Bellevue Society a sneak peak into his upcoming book, 3 Kings: Diddy, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z and Hip-Hop's Multibillion-Dollar Rise, investigating how these three pioneers of the music world transformed the culture and how business is done at large. The book was published on March 6th, and he would love your support!

Welcome Remarks from President Paula Prezioso:

GOOD EVENING AND WELCOME members and guests to the 1067th meeting of the Society of Alumni of Bellevue Hospital. My name is Paula Prezioso, and I am honored to be your President again for 2018. 

This year will be another exciting one, and the Executive Committee has worked hard to bring us interesting speakers from the political, medical and historical fields. I would like to thank the new Executive Committee for their commitment to the Society, and continue to welcome members to our productive meetings.

Our Executive Committee members include:

- Laura Erickson-Shroth: Vice President and Chair of the Entertainment Committee

- Steven Field - Secretary

- Danielle LaRocca - New Membership Chair

- Elihu Sussman - Treasurer, Historian and Trustee of the Carlisle Fund

- Vince Palusci - Trustee of the Carlisle Fund

- Ann Garment - Website Director

- Roz Palusci - Chief of Administration and Organization

We have a completely full panel of speakers for 2018! Anyone with suggestions for 2019 should speak to Laura. We also continue to look for new members. We have several new members here tonight - please introduce yourselves. Anyone with suggestions for new members should talk to Steve.

I would now like our Treasurer, Dr. Sussman, to give us a brief financial report as we start 2018.

Tonight's talk with be given by Denny Daniel, Founder an dCurator of the Museum of Interesting Things. The topic is: It Hurts When I Do This - The History of Quack Medicine and Medical Interventions.
